Zakum is an ancient boss located in El Nath's Dead Mine. He's a multi-stage boss fight that requires preparation, teamwork, and strategy. The Zakum Helmet remains one of the most coveted items in MapleStory.Prerequisites
Level Requirements
- Minimum Level: 50 (most servers)
- Recommended Level: 80+ for safety
- Comfortable Level: 100+ for easier runs
Quest Requirements
The Zakum Jump Quest (JQ):- Enter the Dead Mine through El Nath
- Complete the Zakum Jump Quest
- Collect the Eye of Fire
- Requires good jumping skills and patience
Equipment & Supplies
Minimum Gear:- Level 64+ weapon
- Defense: 10+ overall/armor
- Decent accessories
- 500+ HP potions (adjust to your HP)
- 200+ MP potions (for skill usage)
- All Cure potions (for dispel/seal)
- Eye of Fire (from JQ)

The Fight: Stage by Stage
Stage 1: Summoning Zakum
Process:- Entire party must have Eye of Fire
- Speak to the Door of Dimension
- Wait for all members to enter
- Boss spawns after preparation
Stage 2: The Arms
8 Arms to Destroy:- Arm 1 (far left) to Arm 8 (far right)
- Each arm has unique attacks
- Must be destroyed in any order
- Destroy Arms 2 & 7 first (most dangerous)
- Then Arms 3 & 6
- Finally Arms 1, 4, 5, 8
- Ice attacks: Freezes players
- Lightning: Heavy damage
- Dispel: Removes all buffs
- Seal: Prevents skill usage
Stage 3: The Body
After all arms are destroyed:- Main body becomes vulnerable
- Significantly more HP than arms
- Uses all previous arm attacks
- Can stun entire party
- Summons mini-zakums (some versions)
- Maintain buffs constantly
- Heal frequently
- Don't get greedy with attacks
- Use invincibility skills wisely

Mages (I/L, F/P)
- Stay at ranged distance
